Nicola Philippaerts is a Belgian equestrian athlete born on April 20, 1993, in Genk, Limburg, Belgium. He is part of a successful equestrian family and his father, Ludo Philippaerts, and uncle, Jos Philippaerts, are both well-known professional riders. Nicola started riding at a young age and quickly showed talent, winning his first national championship at the age of 12.
Nicola has competed in both show jumping and eventing disciplines but is best known for his success in show jumping. He has represented Belgium in multiple international competitions, including the European Championships and the World Equestrian Games. In 2019, he won the prestigious Rolex Grand Prix at the CSI5* Spruce Meadows ‘Masters’ in Canada, riding his horse H&M Chilli Willi.
